This is non-negotiable if you’re looking to live an authentic life.
It is crucial, absolutely non-negotiable, now more than ever, to be honest with yourself.
But not only must you be honest with yourself, but those around you. To speak from a place of good intention and to embody your values despite worrying about how others will perceive you.
For the last few months, I’ve forgotten how important that is. Don’t get me wrong - every single post I’ve shared on Courtesy of Catie since February 2020 has been honest. It has been truthful. I’ve shared all real opinions, stories, and perceptions on the topics I’ve discussed.
But I’m also lacking A LOT! I’ve kept a lot quiet! I have countless blog drafts and Garageband audios just sitting around.
Why?
Because I’ve been worried about offending those who choose to listen. I’ve been worried about how my story and my experiences will be viewed. I’ve tried taking on the responsibility not only of sharing my opinion but trying to frame how others will receive it. I’ve had to remind myself that going about content creation that way isn’t fair - not for me, or for you!
We’re all entitled to our experiences and opinions. It’s one of the many beautiful parts of being human.
So today I’m letting go of that worry. And I hope you do too! You don’t have to be an aspiring podcaster, writer, or content creator to live your life this way. You’re entitled to sharing what you want to share and feel the way that you want to feel. If you are acting with pure intentions and are staying true to yourself, nothing else matters. Embodying your truth is the key to living an authentic, peaceful life.
